Ancient paper lanterns find their roots in China and Japan. But presently, many people like them regardless of regional barriers and use them to decorate many events.

Various calming terms and sayings are used on lanterns such as peace, strength, love etc.Decorative paper lanterns normally come in five types, called “crystal magic”, “rolling paper”, “baby’s bottom”, “tomato lights” and “Buddha’s gastronomy”.

The first category is typically used to decorate festivals at shrines. Tomato lights are lanterns resembling huge balls. This type is generally coloured red, and rolling paper lamps are usually made in cylindrical shapes.Bars and restaurants use these types widely, while baby’s bottom lanterns are usually popular as decorative lights at Christmas. These are somewhat smaller compared to other illuminative paper lanterns.

The Japanese paper lanterns are usually circular in design, although other shapes are also available under the Japanese label. The typical colour is white, although red is also used.China and Japan use similarly varied colours for lanterns, hence there is hardly any difference in lantern design from one country to the other.

There is not much difference between Chinese and Japanese lanterns as many different colours are used in the making of both types. Unlike in the past, decorative paper lanterns are now used for many occasions and they come with various encouraging phrases on them as well. Since kanji is identical to Chinese letters, it is difficult to distinguish Chinese paper lanterns from Japanese.

Illuminative paper lanterns have come to be hugely popular as festive decor. Whether they are used internally or externally, decorative paper lanterns increase festive cheer and help to sooth your mind enhancing the festival or occasion you are at.

Suspended paper lanterns

Places where happy events are staged very often are illuminated with Hanging Paper lanterns. Although used as temporary decorations, these decorative lanterns are also used for permanent illumination in buildings and gardens. Hanging paper lanterns are available either fully assembled or ready to put together.

People now have the option to buy decorative lanterns that need assembly at home or ones that are pre-assembled. Assembling decorative paper lanterns is easy. Twenty minutes is all you need to assemble a hanging paper lantern.

When you buy hanging paper lanterns, you can see that they are equipped with a metal tool for expanding the paper globe as well. The cord required to hang the lantern must be purchased separately. Since the cords normally come in 10 to 15-foot lengths, you may have to add an extension in the event you need more length.

Even though assembly is not difficult, be careful not to contact the sides of the lantern with the expander tool when widening the lamp. Additionally, collapsible wires are used to make the body of these lamps. This helps packaging and mailing lanterns so they can be kept flattened easily. To obtain the original shape of the lantern, the metal expander is needed.

After you reshape the lantern, you will need the cord to hang it. Place the cord along the wall to the top and hook the cord to the ceiling. Select a tape that will stick the cord well. The cord can be fixed with hooks which are stronger than any tape. Install the light next. As electric fixtures may cause fires, keep enough space between each side of the lanterns when positioning the bulb. It is more suitable to use CFL bulbs rather than other types because these bulbs heat up less.

CFL bulbs are much better than incandescent lights for paper lanterns as the former heats less. Always keep the wattage low as it minimizes the probability of fires. After attaching, switch on the light to see if it works properly. Occasionally, it may not work due to erroneous installation. Check the installation for proper usage.

Floating Sky Lanterns

Lighted candles and rice paper bags are used to make paper lanterns. We know them as sky lanterns or sky candles, rising to the sky and floating until the candle hidden inside stops burning; subsequently, it will start drifting towards the earth. There are numerous shapes that can be chosen for paper lanterns, but sky lanterns must have a specific shape, supporting the drift of the lantern in the air.

Although this means you will have to stick with the existing form, the rice paper used for the making of these sky lanterns can come in many wonderful colours; sky lanterns are amazing flying objects, often bearing messages and intimate thoughts, carrying them up there where they belong. Sausalito and Marin City Share Outstanding School System of Private and Public Schools

Three schools are operated by the Sausalito School District, which is located at 630 Nevada St., 415-331-3507. All of these are shared by students from the City of Sausalito and the unincorporated community of Marin City.

To ensure that Sausalito Marin City students would be able to attend a K through 8 school with the municipal boundaries, Willow Creek Academy was initiated to students could avoid travelling elsewhere to attend school. The enrollment of the Academy increased from 37 to 104 students during the first three years and in 2009, a second kindergarten class was added.

Mill Valley, California Offers a Plethora of Prime Educational Opportunities

The Town of Mill Valley, California, which is one of the most sought-after towns in which to live within affluent Marin County, offers many excellent educational choices ” both public and private.

There are Modern Solutions for Repairing Slab Leaks

Pipe leaks that occur within walls are bad enough “you have to cut open walls or ceilings to repair the pipe(s) and the water damage theyve caused. But when your leaking pipe is inside or underneath the concrete of your floor or foundation, you face a much more time-consuming and expensive repair. While one solution is to re-route water around the affected area with new above-ground pipes, epoxy pipe lining often eliminates the need to tear or dig up your concrete floor or foundation by restoring your pipes while they are still inside or below the concrete.

Sometimes a slab leak will be obvious. It could be a noticeable (or dramatic) increase in your water bill.You may be able to spot moist, wet, or damp spots (or stains) on your floor or carpeting. Maybe youve noticed low water flow. There may be water coming through your foundation “or your foundation may begin to settle.

Slab leaks can occur in your homes potable water line or in your outgoing sanitary sewer line; both of which may be embedded in or under the foundation of the building. Leaks in either set of lines can cause large amounts of damage to the foundation and each has its own list of causes, some are shared. Slab leaks in the potable water line can potentially be more destructive because the supply water is under pressure. It runs through or under the concrete slab, then to the water heater where copper pipes split off and carry water to all the hot and cold water fixtures in your house.

There are four main causes of slab leaks in a houses incoming water lines. Chemistry is the 1st, either the chemical interaction between copper water pipes or the water running though them (copper pipe is very susceptible to pinhole leaks caused by the chemical composition of your water), or electrolysis from the copper pipe coming into contact with soil. The 2nd is that due to the foundation shifting (because of poor design or installation, or a change in the moisture of the ground) and pull your pipes apart. The 3rd is pressure that is too high (the size of the pipes installed may be too small) will corrode copper pipe. Leaks will also form at points where the pipes bend or change direction. The 4th cause may just be poor workmanship or craftsmanship: inferior plumbing supplies or materials (e.g. soldering, pipes) or a plumber that rushes or inexperienced. It could also be a kinked line (a piece of pipe with an imperfection) or nicked by another (non-plumbing) worker, such as the concrete contractor.

Dissimilar, to those in incoming water lines which will constantly leak since they are under continuous flow and pressure, slab leaks in sanitary sewer pipes only leak when a latrine is flushed, someone takes a shower or bath, or faucet is turned on. There are four main causes of slab leaks in sewer lines. The first is a fracture or break in the cast iron, galvanized steel, or PVC sewer pipes, caused by shifting of the foundation. The second is, in the case of cast iron or galvanized steel pipes, parts of the pipe may be exposed to soil, sand, or gravel which are porous to water -this can lead to corrosion. The third cause is the chemicals, solvents, and cleaning solutions that are poured down the drain which interact and corrode the metal pipes. The fourth cause is poor workmanship or craftsmanship, inferior plumbing supplies or materials, or a second-fiddle plumber.

If you have a slab leak, or think that you do, you should consider getting a free estimate from a qualified epoxy pipe lining company. Rather than go through the time-consuming (days or even weeks) and expensive process of either re-routing the affected plumbing altogether, or digging/breaking up your concrete floor or foundation, destroying the flooring you may have covered it with, and buying new replacement pipes, you may be able to save time and money by restoring the pipes you have, right where they are (by connecting epoxy lining equipment to your existing fixtures and valves). A conventional repair (digging up and replacing pipe) will solve your problem right now, but epoxy pipe lining can protect your plumbing system from future slab leaks.
